I am a retired Deputy Sheriff ( 27 years) and have paddled the Everglades , Okefenokee and most of the rivers between the two locations. I volunteer teach at the University of Scouting and act as an advisor with the scouts on where to camp , canoe , kayak and backpack here in Florida. Since retiring I have built three wood boats , one kayak (Pygmys Coho) and two pirogues ,from Uncle Johns , and have written three articles about kayaking here in Florida. Now I have the time to do what I liked as a kid growing up here in Florida , bulding boats and camping or just being outside..................
